Abstract:

Data Warehousing: Your Competitive Business Advantage

Mastering data warehouse strategies will mean success (or failure) in
migrating decision support systems (DSS) to the desktop while maintaining
ties to corporate data sources. As industry standard middleware gains
acceptance, organizations are increasingly capable of accessing a wide
variety of heterogeneous corporate databases. However, I/S organizations
are being challenged by a lack of common data warehouse services
including a business user-oriented repository, and copy management for
replicating/synchronizing operational databases with DSS databases. This
conference will give you the knowledge and insight you need to put proven
data warehousing strategies to work for your organization.

By taking advantage of next-generation client/server architectures,
massively parallelized RDBMS, object orientation, workflow management
and GUI-based DSS, your I/S organization will deliver value-added,
distributed decision making capabilities that will reinforce corporate
rightsizing and re-engineering objectives. At this conference,
industry experts analyze products and services from leading data warehousing
and DSS vendors to provide business and technology insight based on practical
experience. These key areas of concern will be addressed:

o Marketing the business value of enterprise-wide decision support to
      your management.
o Mastering data warehouse architectures (physical and logical) that best
      coexist with your operations.
o Selecting powerful and effective data modeling and copy management tools
      to support warehouse administrators.
o Identifying the right mix of compelling DSS/EIS tools to win
      enthusiastic end user support.
