REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - A former worker at software maker Oracle Corp. (ORCL)
has sued the president, claiming she was fired after ending their sexual
relationship. The lawsuit filed yesterday on behalf of one-time marketing
coordinator Adelyn Lee alleges that Lawrence J. Ellison warned she "would
leave Oracle" if she ever broke off the 1 1/2-year relationship. Also named
in the suit are Oracle and Craig Ramsey, vice president for sales.
Yesterday, Oracle officials said they had not seen the suit. This afternoon,
an Oracle spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment. Lee said in
the suit she was hired in May 1990 as a temporary marketing assistant and
became marketing coordinator in less than a year. The suit said her
relationship with Ellison lasted from November 1991 to last April. According
to the lawsuit, Lee met with Ellison at his home in Atherton on April 16 to
tell him she was considering a breakup. "Ellison struggled with (Lee),
pulled her into his bedroom and pushed her onto his bed in an effort to
force (Lee) to have sexual intercourse," the suit said. Ellison, who founded
the computer programming and software company, told Lee during the struggle
that "she should have sexual intercourse" with him "or else," it continued.
Lee said she was fired five days later. The suit seeks unspecified damages.
