Product Name: MATISSE

Target Environment: High volume OLTP on U*X platforms.

Origin:

Intellitic International, SNC
12/14, rue du Fort de Saint-Cyr
Montigny-le-Bretonneux
78182 Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Cedex, FRANCE
Tel: 33 (1) 30.14.54.30

Opinion: Based solely on written materials recently received
from ODB in Cambridge, MA. Have not evaluated product
          yet.

Possible STRONG competition for DECobjectDB with some real OLTP speed
features and a more rigorous OODB model due to European Community
standards requirements -- ISO 9002 [??].

Reports strong conformance to Ada (tm) Hierarchical Object-Oriented Design
method and "case" tools [compatible CASE environments are not revealed.]

Reports use for REAL-TIME digital-video application support -- and
REAL-TIME process control support.

Shocker: This thing is reported to be providing REAL-TIME PROCESS CONTROL
support in FRANCE FOR A NUCLEAR REACTOR. [Yes, the same FRANCE
that banned the C-language from any nuclear reactor control room
          application.]

Q: Does anyone know if RDB/ELN or straight Rdb is in a comparable
        situation ??

Negatives: Strictly U*X environment engine I believe.
Positives: Mentions availability on VAX 6000 engines.

Tracking the OODB Fad Thing!
