1244.0. "Extracting data from IDMS/R" by KETJE::WENDT (Wendy Wendt) Fri Apr 02 1993 12:06

	I have a customer with a large IDMS/R database on a SIEMENS 7580/BS2000
	and they want to be able to extract data from that database and store it
	in another db on a UNIX system (possibly SCO or OSF) to do statistics...
	In the future they were thinking of having a read/write access to that
	db. The choice of the db on the UNIX system is ours.

	Has anyone had any similar problem or know of a solution ?

	The other notes concerning IDMS in this conference were IBM IDMS related.

	Any info would greatly be appreciated.

	Thanks in advance

	Wendy.

Yes, some of my customers has asked me some time as he wants to retrieve
some data out o IDMS/R on Siemens.

No, I told him the only way I know of is to extract the data in a file,
transfer it every night to a VAX and load it into Rdb.
