I have a customer with a large IDMS/R database on a SIEMENS 7580/BS2000 and they want to be able to extract data from that database and store it in another db on a UNIX system (possibly SCO or OSF) to do statistics... In the future they were thinking of having a read/write access to that db. The choice of the db on the UNIX system is ours. Has anyone had any similar problem or know of a solution ? The other notes concerning IDMS in this conference were IBM IDMS related. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance Wendy. This is also posted in the SIEMENS_COMMUNICATION

> Has anyone had any similar problem... Yes, some of my customers has asked me some time as he wants to retrieve some data out o IDMS/R on Siemens. > ...or know of a solution ? No, I told him the only way I know of is to extract the data in a file, transfer it every night to a VAX and load it into Rdb. -Hans |
