| Bill,
You might want to send mail to Gerry Duncan. He might still have this
information.
I went to a PowerBuilder seminar today and they ended the presentation
with a customer's testamonial. The only complaints the customer had
was with Oracle. They chose Oracle over Sybase running on NCR (UNIX ~
open!). They went with Oracle V7.0 for the 2PC and referential
integrity features in September. They said the Oracle sales rep was
difficult to work with. They installed Oracle V7.0-6 on 11/06. The
Oracle V7.0 COBOL compiler was not available until 1/31 and they got
this directly from engineering. They got the latest release of Oracle
last week V7.0-12 which now supports the features they needed. They
said that the numerous updates to the product was challenging. They
would have a full time Oracle consultant on site throughout the project
next time and they won't make decisions based on futures.
Sure will be nice when Rdb is open!
