1138.0. "Help with Gupta questions " by KCOHUB::DAZOFF::DUNCAN (Gerry Duncan @KCO, 452-3445) Thu Apr 16 1992 06:35
I'm dealing with an IBM customer who is on this mission to
replace his ES9000 (ie 9370) with a punch of PCs running
applications built with Gupta's product set.
I'm not sure we're going to be able to slap them back to
reality about running an entire business with PCs and Gupta.
So, in case we lose the Gupta battle, is there a way we can
at least get Digital into the account (beyond selling all
the PCs, servers, and network gear) ? Can we position an
Ultrix or VMS machine into a prominent role ?
Q: For example, does Gupta talk to any other server than their
own (Oracle ?, sybase? others) ?
Q: Could a use a VAX as the server (via Pathworks) for Gupta's
data manager ?
Any thoughts / info would be appreciated.

1138.1 | Gupta supports SQL services | SAACTX::Harrison | Melissa Harrison 385-2114 | Tue May 26 1992 16:52 | 3 |
| I understand that Gupta does (or will) access SQL services, which would allow
them to make full use of Rdb. I heard this in an AccessWorks presentation.
