For a very large VAX/VMS customer (VAX6000 + 5GO of DB)
i am looking for strong competency on INFORMIX/VMS and or
pointer to knowledgeable people.
I is critical for him otherwise he will consider going to a
UNIX (DEC or NOT DEC) version of informix .
This guru will be helpfull to "tune" informix 2.10 Engine
and to help diagnosis problems.
Thanks by advance

I don't understand your request. Are you asking for help converting someone from Informix/VMS to Rdb/VMS or asking help a customer who wants to go TO Informix/VMS? Or??? Informix discontinued their VMS product some four years ago because they thought Rdb/VMS was better. They originally planned to port their tools to work with Rdb/VMS, but those plans were cut back when Informix ran into financial trouble and they decided to concentrate on the Unix market. Informix-OnLine consistently posts the best TPC benchmark results of any database vendor, on all hardware vendor's boxes. The Informix people, assuming they are the same ones I dealt with a few years ago, are a pleasure to work with (much better than Ingres, Oracle, etc.) Hal | |||||

.1 is correct...Informix has pulled their support for the VAX/VMS
line. They are shifting investments to provide more support for
UNIX platforms.
