I am looking at an Oracle quote and am a little confused about some of
their terms.
Specifically - the line item which reads -
"Runtime - conversion cluster licence for SQL/Forms
"Runtime - conversion cluster licence for SQL/Plus
"...... for SQL/Report
Does the term RUNTIME have the same meaning as an Rdb/VMS Runtime? I
thought Oracle had no runtime license. Any comments....

They are getting creative, in order to win business. They usually
discount about 50% after the first license has been sold. The
discounted license is generally referred to as the "run time" version.
We have also seen them quote user based licenses, but then switch back
to regular licensing.
