This is a demo PowerSearch by Dimensional Insight. It is a great package
to help you find meaning out of all-that-data. For those of you that need
to find "hidden meanings" for trend analysis, this tool is for you.

For those of you developing office/desktop/information analysis tools,
this would be a good "example" of what is out there.

[This is the same stuff that was demoed at the DECmug meeting last night]
[(for those die-hards that stayed until the end). It is very slick!]

I was at the DECMUG meeting and saw the demo and was impressed.
I wanted to take a more detailed look, so I downloaded the demo to my
    SE.

I decompressed the file, got everything all set, double clicked on the
DIVER icon, and then got a dialog box stating that a 68020 processor
was the minimum required. I tried some of the other programs and got
    the same thing.

So, alas, no Power Search demo for us poor folks with low end machines.
    Maybe its time to upgrade!

I downline loaded this and uncompressed it, but didn't see any help or readme
text, and so couldn't figure out what it should do... Did I miss something?

Thanks,

Jeff (always-interested-in-things-with-such-good-comments)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PowerSearch takes any flat file extract from any database and converts it into
a file structure that supports business data visualization analysis.

Supported by its own data dictionary to define data columns and rows, the flat
file conversion process results in a multi-dimensionally indexed database
for high-speed "diving" through extracted data.

It supports an interactive graphics package, and near real-time options for
data ordering.

For MIS application programmers, it means the end of boring IS report application
development. All you have to do is create an extract and deliver it on time
to the appropriate Mac on your network -- and let the end-user explore the data
any which way they want.

Presentation graphics include the standard line, bar, and pie chart modes.
And of course - yet another ASCII report generation tool.

I'd say that it does a real nice number on the existing 4GL market.
