Infonetics have a product called Metadata that claims "is fully
compliant with the ANSI SPARC standard for database design."
Forgive my ignorance, but what is the ANSI SPARC standard for database
design?

| 1007.1 | ah, the ole 3-Schema model... | NOVA::HORN | Steve Horn, Database Systems | Mon Nov 11 1991 19:39 | 10 |
The 3-Schema Model, also known as the ANSI/SPARC 3-Schema Model, was
developed about 1975 and is a conceptual model of a database schema.
The model describes 3 levels, internal (physical database
charcteristics), external (an individual users view of the data), and
conceptual (the entire set of user visible data).
