Does anybody know of any large ( 100+ concurrent users )Ingres sites, running on any platform, OR, any failed large Ingres projects ? A local customer of ours is intending to write a 250 user distibuted Ingres Windows/U**X application. Each user will have a workstation on his desk communicating to a single shared db server. Is this sensible ?

966.1 | How about Ingres + ACMS on VMS ? | SIERAS::NAKAPPAN | Thu Aug 01 1991 19:34 | 13
EDS is currently developing a futuristic Health Care application in Dallas and currently doing Beta Testing at Harvard Community Plan; this application is written using DECforms, ACMS and Ingres, and I believe that it is expected to support several hundred users. However, there is some future consideration of replacing Ingres with Rdb for the database. May be if you call Carlos Lawhun, the Account manager for EDS, he might be able to refer you to some of the technical folks on the project, who might be willing to share some stories about their experience in using Ingres on VMS. Hope this helps
