Does anyone know if SyBase can do joins across multiple platforms, like
or unlike? They seem to have my customer sold on this ability and I am
wondering if it's here or just vapor wear.

I'm definitely not an authority on Sybase, but here's what I think is
true:
Sybase can join Sybase tables across platforms (just like ORACLE and
Ingres can), but Sybase cannot join Sybase table with other tables.
Only Ingres (through Ingres Star) has the ability to join heterogeneous
tables.
