Hi! I am looking for brief info on what The RDA standard will include. I have looked at other notes and I have not found anything of substance that can make this topic clear. I am aware that this is being developed, but any info on the syntax or possible contents would be useful. Thanks in advance. Dinesh.

I am Editor of one part of the ISO RDA standard, as well as Digital's representative to the ANSC X3H2.1 (RDA). Unfortunately there is no brief info on what the RDA standard will include. Nor is there any (active) Notes file (with sufficient interest, that could be changed). I can also attempt to answer specific questions (but not before June 20). There is an ISO Editing meeting scheduled for May 20-30, and a new version of the standard - hopefully DIS - should emerge around the end of July. (The current version is dated March 1990.) For information on product plans (RdbStar/Link to SQL Access, etc.), please contact Scott BROKE::Newman. | |||||

Check out Note 843 for information on the SQL Access Group. They have developed a proposal for the RDA committee. |
