Job Description/Responsibilities (work to be done/unique features of this
position):
Experienced software engineer able to contribute to the DBS engineering
effort for engineering data management systems, as well as to represent
the work area in various internal and external working groups.
As a specialization of the general described tasks for job code 50AD, the
following tasks need to be addressed for ADDS/CIM:
. development, integration and qualification of s/w products for UNIX,
MS-DOS and VMS platforms
. executing engineering tasks as identified in the Corporate phase review
process, for example: development of functional specifications, product
and test suites' implementation, management of base level releases, etc.
. implementation of PDES/STEP and EXPRESS concepts onto Digital's NAS
platform.
Requires development and promotion of an authoritative and creative view of
the application of DB technology to engineering and manufacturing problems.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements (minimum qualifications):
. indepth knowledge of database and compiler concepts
. indepth experience in applying database and compiler concepts for the
development of applications, preferable in the CAD/CAM/CIM domain
. multi-year experience in s/w-implementations in at least one of
the required operating systems, preferable in UNIX
. familiar with AIA concepts/NAS products
. indepth understaning of the object-oriented programming paradigm.
. experience in applying dictionary concepts in software product developments
. education in computer science
. well development skills in English (reading and writing)
