873.0. "Trifox (TRIM) and ORACLE conversion" by SUBWAY::WANG () Fri Feb 22 1991 19:31
Lastest with Trifox -
Cenetr for Migration is selling (and supporting) Trifox's tools (TRIM)
along with the ORACLE to Rdb/VMS migration services. The CMS hotline
(DTN 523-2002) is the place to call for information on prices and
getting the software internally.
These tools has some nice features like running in the PATHWORKS
environment, and using PC's in a Client/Server fashion. For example,
users can use the PC for Rdb/VMS applications development, and run the
application in the PC (or on the VAX) to access the same Rdb/VMS
database.
One of the tools TRIM/qmr is the Rdb/VMS version of ORACLE product's
(developed by Trifox) QMX. It is a query-by-example tool for the
Rdb/VMS users. ORACLE and IBM QMF users love this stuff.
For those customers who are dissatisfied with ORACLE, they should feel
very comfortable these tools. And as far as the database engine goes,
ORACLE don't even come close to Rdb/VMS.
