Oracle gave a PID to my customer some days ago. They were talking about V7. Major subject was 2PC, which will be in V7. I don't have any info about other new features. They were even talking about V8, but could not tell the people what this will be. Release date for V7 will be in more than a year, more likely are two years from now. But they claimed they already have "distributed capabilities" now (haha, remote access, haha). O. told also they have an engineering team in the Netherlands. The manager or project leader of this team was present at the PID. -Hans

Hi, In Holland they do the port of Oracle to some of the UNIX platforms. Other engineering efforts over here are minimal. BTW, Oracle people in Holland were ssmart enough to hold the shipment of SQL*Forms V3.0 for quite a long time in Holland, as they did not want to support a product with so many bugs.
