862.0. "trade press article" by AKOCOA::HAGGERTY (GIA EIS/SWS, Acton MA.) Fri Feb 08 1991 03:29
This month's issue of "DBMS Magazine" (Feb 91 vol 4 no 2) has a picture
of a VAX 6000-420 on the cover with the title "The Gateway to Host Data".
The index page (pg 3) explains:
"About the Cover - DBMS Art Director Cynthia Engler put a VAX
up on a pedestal in recognition of the strides Digital has made toward
providing access to Rdb data from LAN workstations"
"In this Issue - More and more, PCs are the window into
corporate data wherever it resides. This continuing trend is reflected in our
cover story on how PC applications can tap host data via a communication
gateway, in the first of our SQL Tutorial series, in our interview with a DB2
Gateway expert, and in Rich Finkelstein's column on Digital's Rdb RDBMS.
[...]"
The Finkelstein article is objective and pro-Rdb, so if your customer
is a fan of his, you should pick up this month's issue. Even if
they're not, this is great press for our interoperability capabilities.
