who don't have this (very valuable) report in hand the number is:

| Do we have a recent copy of this? Can someone please descibe who these
people are? Oracle recently gave this out to a customer of ours.

846.3 | New one out now... | FILTON::BIRCH | Please Mr Music, will you play? | Wed Jan 27 1993 15:03 | 5 |
| FWIW, there's a new report from Butler Bloor which was widely reported
in the press here saying DB2 is not suitable for transaction
processing! I have not seen it so I cannot verify this.

The full DB report costs approximately $900.00-1200.00 US currency.
Database Systems is purchasing a copy. We MAY purchase extract reprints
as in the past. That is up for consideration now. I can arrange volume
discounts if 5 or more people wish the full book.

846.7 | it's worth it, I'd think | MBALDY::LANGSTON | The secret is strong ears. | Fri Feb 19 1993 07:33 | 4 |
| get the reprint/extracts made that compare Rdb with ORACLE, SYBASE and
DB2. (as long as it makes Rdb look good ;-)

846.8 | It's worth the money | STOHUB::GOLFNG::DONOVAN | Patti Donovan, 445-6390 | Fri Feb 19 1993 22:28 | 9 |
| This was report has been extremely helpful in the past. Customers like
independent reports that make our products look good. It helps them
sell to their management. I agree with Bruce's recommendation that we
continue this practice if Rdb looks as good as it has in the past.
I did think it was funny that DB2 was listed in the Comparative DB
Performance on the VAX!
