816.0. "Ingres information on clusters and performance?" by IJSAPL::OLTHOF (Henny Olthof @UTO 838-2021) Mon Dec 03 1990 14:51
For a large distributed order entry system on VAX-VMS, we may need
to work with Ingres (customer demand). I've looked but have not found
any information about:
- how wel does Ingres scale in clusters
- does it support automatic failover and recovery in clusters
- TPC-A or TPC-B results (seems that Ingres does not participate in the
performance WAR where Rdb, Oracle and Sybase are in)
Please don't try to convince me that Rdb can do the job much better,
I'm fully aware of that. Thanks for your help,
Henny Olthof, TP-DB presales Holland

| I have not seen performance numbers for Ingres on VMS.
Check SMURF::ULTRIX_SQL Note 257 for TP1 numbers for ULTRIX/SQL
(aka. Ingres) on ULTRIX.
