Does anyone have any information regarding whether ORACLE runs on
VMS V5.4? (Either version 5.x.x or 6.x.x)
>> I have been told by my customer database manager that we can
>> proceed with our 5.4 upgrade, 'cause Oracle 6.x.x supports VMS V5.4
>> It appears that 5.x.x does not.
>> This is far from an official answer, but it's what my customers

793.2 | but we needed it yestreday... | WILARD::SARRACCO | it blinded me with science | Tue Nov 13 1990 15:25 | 9 |
| My customer was told by Belmont that "certification" of the ORACLE
kernel under VMS V5.4 would be completed by approximately Dec. 1,
which was 30 days after they placed the support call,
Actually, I'm not surprised, the Big "O" seems to have a problem
in delivering a consistent message....

The latest information which I was able to obtain indicates that
ORACLE V6.0.3.30 has been certified for VMS V5.4.
Also, acceptance testing for V5.1.22 is about 50% completed.
Also, Big O engineering stated that both versions ran undera
pre-release version of VMS V5.4.

793.4 | I used it ... it's OK | MAIL::DUNCANG | Rdb & DTM, 2 phase knockout for Oracle | Wed Nov 21 1990 23:03 | 4 |
| We used Oracle 6.0.30 and VMS 5.4 @CXN during some recent benchmarks.
Both VMS and Oracle seemed to work just fine.
