645.0. "PC to access VAX Rdb" by HGOVC::SHIRLEYCHAN (shirley chan) Tue May 15 1990 13:08

    What is the current status of DBase IV on PC accessibility to VAX Rdb?
    Any idea about when the product is ready and what are the functions?

    Is there any other products on PC that provide a friendly user
    interface to access data on VAX Rdb. Customer need some easy and simple
    ways to develop applications on PC (involute screens and pop-up menu,
    etc) to access Rdb. They don't want to write programs with
    SQL/Services.

    Thanks for any ideas.

    Shirley

OK, here's an updated list:

We have had a lot of requests regarding which software vendors are supporting
SQL Services. My research shows very few, however, we are just getting
started. Database Systems is conducting an RSVP direct mail campaign for
SQL Services. We are also conducting direct recruitment with certain vendors.
Listed below is status of known vendors.

contact 212-267-7722, released in 1990, probably first released product
using SQL Services.
