Can anyone give me a comprehensive yet brief comparison among the
following as relational database management system :

    	UNIFY
    	SIR/DBMS
    	ORACLE
    	PROGRESS
    	INFORMIX
    	RDB/VMS

I need to convince some customers that RDB/VMS is better than the
    others. Thanks !

In addition to my question 572.0, I would like to have an evaluation in
    terms of the following :

    	a. as an application database system
availability of 4GL that can be ported to it.
    	b. fast track
    	   availability of forms management software
    	c. workbench
availability of wordprocessing and spreadsheet software
    	d. toolkit
    	e. powertools
layered products and 3rd party softwares.

    Thanks again.

We have an abridged version of the Martin Butler/Robin Bloor evaluation
of VAX databases. That abridged version compares Oracle, Ingres,
    Sybase, Adabas, and Rdb.

The complete Butler report includes Progress and Informix as well, I
think. The complete report is available from ButlerBloor in London.

Also check BROKE::DB_COMPETITIVE_HELP and you should get slide show
number 863 for a presentation of Rdb and its integration with other
information management products. It is an excellent presentation.
