LOS GATOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ShareBase Corp. (NASDAQ:SHBS)
announced Tuesday that American Telephone and Telegraph recently 
purchased five ShareBase SQL database servers valued at $2.5 million.

AT&T is ShareBase's largest customer, having purchased more than 
160 database servers from ShareBase since 1981.  The recent purchases 
include four ShareBase Server700.  AT&T 
has now purchased eight ShareBase Server/8000 systems since the product 
was introduced last year. 

The Server/8000 is ShareBase's RISC processor-based SQL server 
capable of managing 100 gigabytes of data and hundreds of concurrent 
users. 

The four ShareBase Server/8000s will be utilized within AT&T's 
Software Defined Network (SDN) and related support system applications, 
providing high-performance relational database management for AT&T 3B 
computers running Unix System V.  The SDN application allows AT&T users 
to configure what appears to them to be a virtual private voice/data 
network which exists as a set of definitions stored on the Server/8000.

The Server/700 joins two other SahreBase servers that are in use on 
the FTS2000 government telephone network which AT&T is building for the 
U.S. government.

tuning which allow our SQL servers to be used in more production 
applications like AT&T's than any other server on the market today,''
