From what I've heared from my customer this RMS support is implemented in Holland and is currently fieldtested at some sites. The customer was rather surprised when I told him a month ago, that Oracle will claim to support RMS in a short timeframe. Implementation seems to be rather clumsy though anf of course there's no CDD integration. Henny | |||||

Just received my Winter 1990 issue of Oracle magazine. In it is an article about SQL*connect for RMS. It requires Oracle V6.0 and is read only. In order to access data, you DO have to change your query to indicate it is destined for RMS. An example they have listed: "SELECT * FROM EMP@RMS" As you can see, this is very much different than changing a logical name and certainly not transparent. --gerry |
