    A SmartStar salesman told me today that Oracle is telling customers
    that there will be an Oracle product (probably SQL*connect) which
    talks to Rdb next month.  
    
    Anybody else hearing this from the streets ??

    Sorry it took so long to get to this, I've heard from ICI (one of
    our RDB customers) that ORACLE promised exactly that SQL*connect
    for RDB....Appearently this was discussed in the UK.

    One of my customers in Holland is told by Oracle, that the Rdb connect
    tools will be available in the summer timeframe.

I was at a customer site last week with (against) Oracle.   The
customer is developing an application using the Oracle PC tools
and are currently using a Sparcstation 470 as the database server.
They are getting horrid results, so they would like to move the 
database to the VAX and Rdb.  They asked why it wouldn't
work so I drew the Rdb architecture and where Oracle SQL*
Connect would go, crossed it out saying it wasn't there and the
Oracle reps said nothing.  Turns out they were also after the
D.B. on the VAX but the jury is still out on that one.

I met local Oracle salespeople a couple of weeks ago and they mentioned a future
SQL*Connect to Rdb/VMS. No timeframes except 'soon' were mentioned and 
I don't know wheather it was read access only or not.
