We have a situation where the customer has chosen SYBASE as their database of choice on a VAX platform. Are there any tools, either ours or third party that will help to develop applications in this environment that will run on a VAX workstation, and are more robust than SYBASE's own tools?

The customer might have considered this before buying Sybase. ---- Michael Booth Fortex's Passport is one. But I'm not familiar with it. | |||||

Wait 'till they start writing SQL code inside a program and have to put in the logic to connect to the Sybase server. Then go back and rewrite the same program in Rdb SQL. We saw a program go from 224 lines of Sybase SQL to 64 lines of Rdb SQL to do the same thing. |
