Does anyone have information on sizing of Ingres on the soon to be announced RISC machines please? I am about to embark on a large bid here in the U.K. and we want to bid the new RISC boxes. Please, if anyone can help, let me know, this is extremely important. Thanks, Gina

The RISC machines are announced. Ingres hasn't been released onthem yet, but will be. Last time I spoke to RTI, they couldn't help on this sizing question. | |||||

By "sizing" to you mean disk space for installation? The RISC version of Ingres version 5.0 has been shipping since around mid June, and the installation requires 41 Meg of disk space to install, plus, of course, whatever your data takes up. By contrast, the VAX version takes 30 Meg. --Josh Friedman Ultrix Engineering |
