318.0. "Rdb competitive training for CSOs" by NUTMEG::SILVERBERG () Tue Mar 21 1989 14:36

    Our CSOs, who have heard and are beginning to consider our Rdb
    strategy, are looking for us to provide them with formal education
    and or training regarding how Rdb beats the competition. Do we
    have any customer or CSO training available which articulates the
    Rdb advantages and provides competitive information?

318.1Gee, that definition sounds familiar...CLYPPR::COUGHLANDBS Product ManagementTue Mar 21 1989 18:517

    I looked up "Selling" in my dictionary, and the definition was:

        "customer or CSO training ... which articulates the
    	Rdb advantages"

318.2CMP/OEM Technical Exchanges for Rdb informationDARTS::BICKFORDThu Mar 23 1989 21:2519
    At the upcoming CMP and OEM Technical Exchanges, there will be
    a session called "Converting to Rdb". For the CMP Exchange (April
    3-5), it will be Tuesday April 4th at 10:45. For the OEM Technical
    Exchange (April 10-12), it will be Tuesday April 11th at 10:45.

    This session will discuss Rdb's advantages over RMS, Oracle, Ingres,
    Sybase, and Tandem. It will also discuss technical considerations
    in migrating applications to Rdb from those products.

    A session on Rdb and Digital's Database Strategy will also be held
    on those Tuesday mornings that will discuss the Rdb product advantages
    for CSOs and its directions.

    I would recommend that any CSOs interested in Rdb attend these two
    sessions during the Exchanges.

    There will be many other related sessions offered as well that CSOs
    should plan on attending: TP Directions, Building a Database
    Application, DECforms, Converting to DECforms, etc.

    re .1...I agree...nothing breeds success like success
    re .2...Thanks...this looks like it will cover some of what the
            CSOs are looking for.

318.4CMP/OEM Exchange information, please...CSOA1::CARLOTTII have an Erie feeling about this...Tue Mar 28 1989 17:259
Is the information from these exchanges available to those of us in the
field?

This kind of information would be very beneficial, to say the least.

Perhaps the information could be posted in Michael Booth's competitive_help
conference.
