I have a customer who has carried out some benchmarks a while ago comparing Rdb with other relational databases. He now has a renewed interest in Rdb and has found that the efficiency of certain database functions is processor dependent. I therefore need to get hold of the same version of Rdb - which was 2.1 - so that he can update his figures on a new processor without having to rerun all his tests. I have had no success in trying to obtain Rdb 2.1. Can anyone out there help me, please? Krys

V2.1 is certainly long dead and buried. While some user may have a tape hanging around, the only official kit is probably in SDC's fire storage vault. Note that you CAN'T use V2.1 to test any Digital processor that requires VMS V5.0 or later since only V3.0 and later runs on VMS V5.0! So, the customer may be out of luck even if you find a kit. |
