    I appreciate someone can enlighten me on the following:
    
    
    I have a customer that want to use Rdb/Vms for his application.
    They publish the local telephone directories. They have decided
    to buy Rdb/Vms and Chinese Rdb/Vms but until recently, the decision maker
    went on a trip in US and upon return we were told that Rdb/Vms will
    perform badly in his type of application. Rdb/Vms is drawn into
    comparison with specialised database of electronic publishing 
    package like "volt delta" and Amdocs (an israeli package for electronic
    publishing)  
                                         
    We were told that Rdb/Vms does not meassure up to this specialised
    databases.
                                                                       
    I would not be supprised even it is true since this specialised
    database may have data structure especially designed for such
    application. But I am not sure how good are they or how bad is
    Rdb in the comparisons. Could someone knowlegeable in the use of
    Rdb in electronic publishing throw some lights in this matter.
