160.0. "Comparisons of Rdb, 1032 and FOCUS" by COGVAX::W_GENS (when in doubt, mumble.) Thu Jul 14 1988 21:34
I have seen comparisons between Rdb and ORACLE in prior notes, however,
none on 1032 or FOCUS.
Currently, I work for the SWS Country Information Center which uses
1032. After reading the prior notes, Rdb seems like it may be the
tool to use for our V2 which we are planning. However, like everything
else, the use of Rdb would need justification and the people in
this notes file would be just the ones to provide it.
Specifically, the following types of information would be needed:
Comparisons on:
- Efficiency on database loads, joins or crosses, etc.
- Reporting and report writing
- Graphics
- Forms Generation
- Other items of interest I've left out
Do documents of this nature exist? It would be extremely helpful.
Thank you in advance.
Bill

Rdb/VMS is purely a database management system. Report writing,
forms, and graphics are provided by separate products.

Sorry, Rdb and its layered products.
