We are tendering a government job that requires a DBMS system
of 6 to 12 gigabytes. Since they prefer relational model, our
Oem who is the main contractor in this case had proposed Rdb/VMS.
We need large Rdb reference site of size of the above magnitude.
I have seen some old notes on Rdb reference site but most of them
are too small in size to be of help.(probably due to the limitation
of earlier version of Rdb)
We do not need very detail info of each site but the following are
deemed suficient.
1. Customer name, place and nature of business
2. Size of Rdb, if possible details of complexities
3. Hardware configuration
- (single node or cluster)
- no of terminals supported
4. transactions per second
5. nos of concurrent users and response time achieved.
6. Use of any VIA product like RALLY or 3GL for application
development.
I would appreciate for any contributions.
Thanks

I would be very surprised if you can find a reference site with
anything like that volume of data, even if you were to look in the
US. Sorry...but let us know if you're successful !

Check the reference database through your area channels, or contact Karen BRAT::hvizda. She might give some useable names. (There are a few possible candidates with that size of databases.) Lars | |||||

Lars -
I was interested to hear that such sites may exist. We had a need
for this information in February and could find nothing. Could you
tell us what sort of application areas are involved, or any other
general information ?
Thanks, Chris
