I have been requested to provide some advice and guidance on the relative attributes of some of the relational databases running under VMS, specifically INGRESS, ORACLE, ULTRA and Rdb. The types of areas we are to look at are - data consistancy - response times - test/development environment - security - multi-access - support - multi-vendor capability - 4GLs - SQL - etc but the time scales are very short ie end of Aug! and hence the customer is not expecting in depth responses. Has anyone out there gone through a similar exercise or knows of any relevant articles I could use - and/or could provide any contact names who could help with information on the third party products. Waiting in hope. Joan.

22.1 | RDB_OLD provides some help | BISTRO::ROWLANDS | Fri Aug 21 1987 11:36 | 6 | |
Note 600.4 in the BANZAI::RDB_OLD conference provides some of the information which you require, but NOTE that this was a benchmark involving RDB V2.0. Note 1116 of the same conference give the up-to-date 2.2 figures for (I believe) the same tests. Rob |
