395.0. "page read error" by DICKNS::TEDFORD () Wed Jan 09 1991 14:24

	    One of our users has a large file that has successfully
	    processed for the Bookreader doctype on other systems.
	    It fails on our system, giving the following log and fatal
	    error message. We cut the file to one chapter, front matter,
	    and contents, but it still fails. We are quite sure it is
	    not a memory-size problem. Can you help us by diagnosing
	    this problem and proposing a fix?

	Please let me know if you need more data, and thanks again for
	your help.

	Best regards,

	Bob

    Hi Bob,

    	We could use more information. Is your hardware different than the
    users system that you say the file processes on? Are the user's
    process quotas, privileges, and system parameters close to the same?
    What version of VMS is on the systems? Have you tried building the
    book from different accounts on your system?

    Thanks,
    	Wayne

    Hi Wayne,

    The user's process quotas, privileges, and system parameters are
    equal to or exceed the requirements for DOCUMENT. The system has
    V5.3 of VMS. I was able to build the test file on my system which
    is also running V5.3. The actual message that the user got is:

    [Device Conversion]...
    %SYSTEM_F_PAGRDERR, page read error, reason mask=00, virtual
    address=0058C97C, PC=0801806B, PSL=0000002

    The user is Wes Johnson, 291-0078, CURRNC::TRADE::WJOHNSON if you
    would to talk to him.
