364.0. "ACCVIO error on device conversion crashes ONLINE.HANDBOOK build" by BOOKIE::NEILSEN (Hot licks and rhetoric) Tue Jul 24 1990 18:06
I recently tried to build the RdbAccess for VAX RMS User's Guide for
the Bookreader. I got the following error message when the bookbuild
crashed:
Job 5419_PROFILE (queue SDML$BATCH_BOOKIE, entry 470) terminated with error stat
us
%SYSTEM-F-ABORT, abort
Here's the log file -- as you can see, it builds just fine until you
get to the device conversion, when you get the following message:
[ D e v i c e C o n v e r s i o n ]...
%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=01, virtual address=72CF6BA4, PC=0801806B, PSL=00000002
Can somebody help me out, here? I've got a deadline of August 1.
I kept all the intermediate files.
Thanks very much!
Therry Neilsen-Steinhardt

364.1 | Duplicate symbol? | MARVIN::KNOWLES | intentionally Rive Gauche | Wed Jul 25 1990 04:48 | 14 |
| I'm no kind of expert on the device converter, but I'd STRONGLY suspect
that a major trouble with your bookbuild is pointed to by the warning
%TAG-W-DUPSYMBOL, tag <SYMBOL_TABLE_ENTRY>, line 3, file
 5419_QUALIFIERS.SDML
 The symbol PRODUCT_FACILITY is being defined twice.
 The earlier definition is replaced by the new definition
I'm not saying that all your troubles will be over if you take my
advice, but if I were you - with your sort of deadline - I'd start
off by getting rid of -W- messages like this.

364.3 | underscores in LMF product name | VIA::EPPES | I'm not making this up, you know | Wed Jul 25 1990 17:30 | 5 |
| Therry (BOOKIE::NEILSEN, that is) sent her log file to Chris Caron, and Chris
told her that the problem was underscores in the argument to the <LMF_PRODUCT>
tag.

364.4 | fixed in 2.0 | OLD::UTT | Mary Utt | Thu Sep 13 1990 10:56 | 4 |
| The underscore problem is a bug -- underscores should be legal. This
is fixed for DOCUMENT V2.0.
