    Hi,

After taking hours to run my book bombed... error is:

BOOKWRITER ERROR -- THE FOLLOWING SYMBOLS ARE UNDEFINED:
     PGID = 21, OFFSET = 2281, SYMBOL = '_DECW_SEMIFORMAL_1'
%DVC-E-OUTPUTFAIL, error writing to output file
    .
    .
    .
    aborting book run

Don't have a clue as to what this means.
    (DOCUMENT 1-2B)

    Ruth-Ellen,

The undefined symbol _DECW_SEMIFORMAL_n error messages are usually
caused by improper coding of <ONLINE_POPUP>/<ENDONLINE_POPUP> tags.
The number usually indicates which popup is causing the problem. In
your case, the first. Check to be sure you haven't coded any formal
figures, tables or examples within your popup. Also, <HEADn> tags are
    not allowed within popups.

You may find that the following notes contain helpfull information.
    		70, 113, 203, 205, 243, 274

(I apologize for not having sufficient keywords to make the search
easier when trying to find related notes. I hope to have time soon to
go over the notes file, adding keywords.)

The next release of the Bookbuilding tools should help to prevent
these undefined symbol problems. Better error checking has been added
to the tag translation phase. To do some better testing of these new
tools, I'd appreciate it if you could send me pointers to the .SDML and
.DVI_BOOKREADER files that are giving you this error. I've tested
using my own test files, but nothing is better than testing with 'real
    world' files.

    Thanks,
    	Wayne

    Hi Wayne,

Thanks.. that was the problem. I used <ONLINE_POPUP> with a formal
figure.. the person who reviewed my books suggested it, then I read the
documentation, but missed the word "informal".

I will leave the figure the way it was.

    I don't have the .DVI_BOOKREADER files. I didn't keep them. Sorry.
