329.0. "Exceeded memory capacity...." by GENRAL::ODONNELL (My Karma ran over my Dogma) Tue May 01 1990 18:19
I am having a problem with the text formatter. The following
message comes out for both .HAND and .REFER ONLINE doctypes.
The file has about 6 includes but no strange tables or figures.
The line that fails (152) is in the middle of a simple list, one
of many in the entire file.
Is there a cure for this?

329.1 | long list? | CLOSET::UTT | | Tue May 01 1990 19:04 | 10 |
| TeX almost invariably runs out of memory when processing an online
book because a 'chunk' is too long. (See note 118.1 for a discussion
of chunks and 'pages'.) So, I'm guessing that the list, while simple,
is a long one. The usual cure is to use the <online_chunk> tag
periodically in the list, between list elements.
If that does not cure the problem, post a pointer to
cedar_fma_overview.sdml.
