287.0. "V1.2-B INSVIRMEM failure /ONLINE BOOKREADER" by STAR::DICKERSON (Philip - an Aussie in VMSland (ZK3-4)) Fri Mar 02 1990 14:37
A bookbuild with DOCUMENT V1.2B BOOKREADER is failing with insufficient
virtual memory, although it built correctly with an earlier version
of DOCUMENT.
After DOCUMENT V1.2B was installed, the following steps were performed:
- DOC$LOCAL_FORMATS:DOC$DESIGNS.DAT and DOC$DESTINATIONS.DAT were
edited according to instructions in 1.2B installation guide,
- DCLTABLES were replaced on all nodes of the cluster,
- DOC$STARTUP was executed on all nodes of the cluster.
The batch log file follows:
$ DOCUMENT x.SDML; ONLINE.REFERENCE BOOKREADER -
/COND=ONLINE/CONT/INDE=(GUIDE_HEADINGS,SORT=(LETTER)) -
/NOPRIN/SYMB=x_SYMBOLS.SDML;

| As it turned out there were two problems here. First, V1.2B had
been installed on the system(s) but not the CUP ZK local kit which
provides new bookname symbols files (among other things). Once this
was corrected the footnote looping bug showed up.

287.2 | CUP ZK local kit ?! | 42627::INGLESON | John D. Ingleson - Demo Engineering - 830-3642 | Tue Mar 13 1990 09:55 | 6 |
| I'm having an almost identical problem. Where do I get the CUP ZK local kit?
I can't find any reference to it. Does this mean I need to do a re-installation
of the Online tools?
Thanks
John

| Do you use either the VMS_BOOKNAMES symbol file,
CUP$VMS_V50_BOOKNAMES.SDML, or the LP_BOOKNAMES symbol file
CUP$LP_BOOKNAMES.SDML, that are provided by CUP ZK? If so,
you can find information on the CUP ZK local kit in the DOCUMENT
notes file, note 9.20. New versions of these files for V1.2B
are provided in this kit.
Do you still have a file called CUP$ONLINE_DEFS.GDX on your system?
It is now obsolete, make sure you are not calling it into your
bookbuild.
Hope this helps, Chris

287.4 | V1.2-B INSVIRMEM failure /ONLINE BOOKREADER | DISTR3::INGLESON | John D. Ingleson - Demo Engineering - 830-3642 | Fri Mar 16 1990 04:30 | 11 |
| As far as I know, the book doesn't use these files - certainly not from the
.SDML sources that I've written. The book only uses a symbol file that I've
created.
I've installed the latest online tools as the kit we had was one day older than
the one that's there now - but still the same problem. On this installation
I selected the option to delete all obsolete files so that shouldn't be a
problem either.
Thanks for your help
John
