284.0. "No hotspots to sections" by PAULUS::FENSKE () Wed Feb 28 1990 09:45

         We converted the DECwrite documentation into Bookreader
         format. The hardcopies of this books were formatted with
         the doctypes dw_end and dw_hand.

         The problem:

         In Bookreader output the tag <reference>(section
         symbol-name) includes the identifying reference and the
         section number (e.g. "Section 4.3"). In PostScript
         output the same reference includes only the section
         title. We have added the word "Section" before the
         reference for hardcopy output and have now - with the
         same source file - the online output "Section Section
         4.3".

         To achieve the goal "having the same source file for
         both PostScript and Bookreader output" we added the tag
         <unnumbered_heads> after the tag <profile>. The result:
         The bookreader creates references with section titles
         (references to chapters are okay) but no hotspots to the
         sections!

         Is this a bug? Any help?

         We are using VAX Document V1.2-A and
         Bookreader 27-October-1989 baselevel

         Thanks,
         Eva

284.2hot spot around whole sentenceZORBA::BURACKNot Fade AwayFri Apr 27 1990 14:4820
    Hi,

    I have another hotspot problem (figured I wouldn't start another note).

    I have the following in my .SDML file:

    <p>
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    See the description of $X and $Y in the section
    <quote>(<reference>(int_xyspecvar\text)) in this chapter and
    <reference>(intro_io_chap) for more information.

    In the online version the symbols are translated okay, but the hotspot
    goes around the whole sentence. It lets me go to the section reference,
    but not the chapter. I think I have a few more of these.

    Any ideas?

    This sounds very much like a problem that has been discussed in note
    255 of this conference. If that discussion doesn't answer your
    questions, let me know and I'll check into it some more.

284.4same problemZORBA::BURACKNot Fade AwayMon Apr 30 1990 12:568
    Hi,

    I guess that answers my problem. Sounds like the same problem - except
    I am using \text and not \full.

    Is the solution to wait for the next version?
