264.0. "<list>(stacked\vertical_rule) problem" by CLOSET::UTT () Wed Jan 17 1990 18:34

This posting is to alert you all to a problem with

    <LIST>(STACKED\VERTICAL_RULE)

The vertical rules do not appear in the output (and have not ever:
this is not a new problem, just a newly discovered problem).

I believe that the problem occurs because of the screen math fonts
currently available under DECwindows. These fonts are a non-QA'd
set of 'interim' math fonts made available for the Bookreader
for the interim until the true (QA'd) math fonts became available.

The 'interim' math fonts, as you might guess, have problems: some
characters, including some vertical bars, are missing altogether
and that (I believe) is why the vertical rules come up missing in
    stacked lists.

The good math fonts will be available for DECwindows V3 and at that
time we'll revisit this problem and make sure that vertical rules
    are output properly.

    Mary

Note 148.* also touches on this problem.

What's the latest on this situation? Will the "good math fonts" really be
available for DECwindows V3? Is the temporary fix Wayne mentioned in 304.1
in DOCUMENT T2.0?

    Hi Nina,

The temporary fix is in VAX DOCUMENT T2.0. The only information I
have about the DECwindows math fonts is that they haven't been tested.
Sorry I don't have more information.

    Have a good day...

    	Wayne
