245.1 | No easy way to convert from .PS to Bookreader | IOSG::GEE | What can be, will be | Wed Jan 03 1990 05:07 | 13 |
| Hi,
When you say you would rather have one source file, do you mean for use
by both PostScript and Bookreader? If so, I do not think that this is
possible; you must create a file for each destination.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no way to convert from .PS to
Bookreader; you must create the artwork from scratch using RAGS, or
some other tool which supports output for the bookreader.
Hope this helps.

| The Bookreader does not currently display PS graphics, only RAGS
metafiles and FSE bitmaps.
The only way (currently) to maintain the same source file for
both PS and Bookreader output is with RAGS. This doesn't do
you any good since you are starting with line art.
There are, however, some ways of converting PS graphics to FSE
bitmaps. See notes 50.2 - .6 and note 94 for more information.

Yes, I know. Check out <DATA_STRUCTURE> tags. You may find them quite
useful, particularly if your engineering group uses SDL. They are
described in Chapter 3 of the "Notes for DEC Internal VAX DOCUMENT
Users", which you can get from:
CLOSET::KITS_:[DOCUMENT.V12.BOOKS]DOC_V12_INTERNAL_NOTES.PS
also .LN03 and .TXT. -Barry
