239.0. "Looking for BOOKBROWSER PAK" by PAULUS::BERGER (What's another word for thesaurus?) Tue Dec 12 1989 03:43

    Hi there,

I just installed the latest bookreader version of the CDA converter
library docset, but I can't read it... bookreader complains about a
    missing PAK called BOOKBROWSER.

Where can I get this BOOKBROWSER PAK?

    	Thanks

    Hi Frenk,

The BOOKBROWSER PAK is contained on the Online Doc. compact disc in the
form of a DCL command procedure. As documented in the cover letter for
the disc, all you need do is run this command procedure by entering the
    DCL command
    		$ @BOOKBROWSER

and the BOOKBROWSER PAK will be regisetered on your node. To register
this PAK cluster-wide, please follow the instructions contained in the
cover letter that accompanies the November CD.

    Regards,
    Marian

    Hi Marian,

unfortunately we don't have the online doc CD here at our site... I
copied the books over the net. So, it would be great if anybody could
post the BOOKBROWSER PAK here, please.

       Thanks

While the BOOKBROWSER PAK cannot be posted in a notesfile (it *is*
a license PAK, so even though it's simple to use, we have to treat
it properly), but I'll be happy to mail it to you over the net for
your personal use. If anyone else needs a BOOKBROWSER PAK for their
own personal use internally, please send mail to either me or to Sally
Parks on node SKYE::PARKS (she is now the Product Manager for the
VMS Online Documentation Library compact disc).

    Cheers,
    Marian

Marian,

Could the BOOKBROWSER PAK be added to the VTX PAK System Generator?
Then you and Sally would not have to mail the PAK to everyone who wanted
it but doesn't have a disc with it on. It even seems to me that this
would be a more "proper" way to handle it.

239.6BOOKBROWSER PAKs will be available on VTXLOWELL::WEISENFELDThu Dec 28 1989 11:367
Yes, we begain this process about two weeks ago, and since the
BOOKBROWSER is a different type of PAK, it will take a few weeks for it
to be accessible through the corporate VTX internal PAK distribution
system. I'll send mail when it's soup, along with instructions as to
how any internal user can obtain their *free* BOOKBROWSER PAKs.

Thanks for the good suggestion, Joe!
