| Correct me if I'm wrong Claire, but I think it might be relevant
that you are running the FT version of Bookreader V2.

| No, I'm viewing this book on V1 of the bookreader (you need VMS 5.3 to use
the latest online bookbuilding tools, and we haven't got that yet).

| Claire,
What version of the online bookbuilding tools are you using? (The
blank line problem sounds like something that was fixed in a recent
version of the bookbuilding tools.)
The changing entries may be a bug in the Bookreader: send a pointer
to the .decw$book file to Jim Ferguson (STAR::FERGUSON).
Thanks,
Mary

| Hi,
I asked our system manager what version of the online bookbuilding tools
we're using, and he just said "the ones that came with VMS V5.2". He didn't
think they had a version number, or at least couldn't remember seeing one.
I'll see if I can find out anything else.
Cheers,
Claire

| Claire,
The online tools are installed separately on top of VAX DOCUMENT,
which is installed separately on top of VMS. The version number
for VAX DOCUMENT is output right after you execute the command line,
and the date for the online tools is output after that:
$ DOCUMENT/CONTENTS/INDEX file-name ONLINE.xxx BOOKREADER
%DOC-I-IDENT, VAX Document V1.2A 2-JUN-1989 16:15:56.35

%TAG-I-DEFSLOADD, End of Loading of Tag Definitions
%TAG-I-LCL_MSF01, Using online bookbuilding tools, 27-October-1989 baselevel
...and so forth...
27-October-1987 is the *current* baselevel of the online tools. If you
are building for the V1 Bookreader, you are definitely using an earlier
version of the tools. As I've said elsewhere in this notes conference
and in the documentation, it's important to note this information when
reporting problems.
Jim Ferguson looked at the files you sent him: we are reasonably
certain that the problem you reported in .0 has been fixed. When
convenient, please rebuild your document under the current baselevel
and let us know if any problems remain.
Thanks,
Mary

This is the version we're using. I'll let you know what happens when
we upgrade.
Thanks for your help.

230.7 | Problem with multiple references | GNUVAX::ETSCOVITZ | | Fri Dec 01 1989 11:37 | 14 |
| Hi,
I've encountered a problem with index entries with multiple references.
When I click on those entries, only the first reference appears. I do
not get a menu listing the other references.
I am using V5.3 of BOOKREADER and Version 1.2 of VAX DOCUMENT. I should
add that I am the editor, and not the writer for this manual.
Any help on the matter would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Nance

| Nance,
Would you please send me a short .SDML file that duplicates the
problem? I've tried a short little test here and it seemed to work
fine. I've probably coded it different then the way yours was coded.
We're pretty busy right now, and it may take a few days to find the
problem.
Thanks,
Wayne

| What version of the online tools are you using? (Check the date that is
displayed when you run DOCUMENT.) I believe that this was a problem in
previous versions of the online tools and is fixed in the current
version (as Wayne's test, .8) seemsto indicate.
