229.0. "TOPIC HEADERS AND BRACES" by DICKNS::TAYLOR () Wed Nov 22 1989 11:15

HI,

I am experiencing two problems with Online Documentation. The files were
prepared with Version 1, but we viewed them with V2.0

1) In the topic header at the very top of the screen, I occasionally
get the book title instead of the actual topic title. I have experienced this
in command sections. At the first command, the book title appears, instead of
the command itself. Throughout the rest of the command section, the commands
appear.

At first I thought this was a problem with the command section,
but another person in my group is experiencing it too, in other kinds of text.

2) The second problem is braces that are output in a <list>(stacked\braces).
In the command section, I have braces in both a <qual_list> and in a
<qual_deflist>. The braces in the <qualdeflist> are very large, while those in
the <qual_list> are an appropriate size. The lists are coded identically.

I hope I have been specific enough. If anyone has a quick fix please
advise, or please let me know that this is a known and valid bug.

Thank you---Diane Taylor

    1. We have fixed a number of these title-bar problems. Please send
me a short SDML file that reproduces the problem and I'll check
it out. (BTW, what baselevel of the online tools are you using?)

    2. Braces: the math fonts currently available to us on DECwindows
have a number of defects that, unfortunately, will not be fixed
until DECwindows V3.0. That is most likely the problem here
(and so nothing can be done until the new math fonts are available).
But if you include these quallists in the SDML file you send me
reproducing problem #1, I'll verify that it's the fonts.

    Thanks,

    Mary

    RE:.0.

    1. The problem with the title bar will be fixed in the next baselevel
       of the online tools.

    2. The problem with the braces is indeed the kludgy math fonts we
have to live with until DECwindows V3.0.

    Thanks,
