The final V5.3 kit is available at all VMS distribution sites. This kit will
upgrade on any V5.* (FT or SSB version) and will install from standalone
backup. The current documentation will be in the same directory as the kit.
To report problems with the software use the V5 database on TRIFID to submit
QARs for all released versions of VMS. All discussion of the V5.3 kit should
take place in the VAXWRK::VMSNOTES conference.
Note that the distribution site is now BULOVA::SYS$KITS:[VMS053] instead of
the node VMSKIT. VMSKIT has been merged into a cluster for greater
availability. The files in the distribution kit directory are:

don't want to have to find someplace to re-build a book for old

| No. There were changes in the DECwindows toolkit that prevent that from
working.
It will only run on 5.2 if you have a v3 DECwindows kit installed (such as
a field test kit.
However, the V5.3 Bookreader will read book built for V5.1 though they won't
look as nice as books built with the V2 tools.
