213.0. "Figure Files don't work w2.0 of BOOKREADER" by GNUVAX::MCHIASSON () Wed Oct 25 1989 16:53

This is a note from a writer I support. What happened was I installed
    T5.3 of VMS along with DECWINDOWS and the new BOOKREADER V2.0. People
    are saying that figure files that worked with V1.0 are NOT working
    with V2.0. Does anyone know what is causing this or why? Below is
    the message that the user sent:

     Mark,

    When I clicked on my hotspot, the references worked, i.e, the table or
correct figure would appear. I had no problems with the tables, but either
the figures would show only the caption and grey area where the figure
should be, or they would be oversized.

    thanks,
    nance

213.1V1 figures 'scrambled' when read by V2 Bookreader?REORG::SEARLEThu Oct 26 1989 09:306
    I've heard vague complaints about problems with figures in the V2
    Bookreader/Tools combo being 'scrambled'. I've asked for more detail
    and will post it here when available. Has anyone encountered similar
    problems?

    How about somebody posting or mailing me a pointer to a couple of these
    figure files. It could be the tools you're using to create/modify the
    figures or the bookreader itself. It's easy enough for us to find once
    we have the file

213.3fixed in SSB 5.3STAR::KRAETSCHNeXt Window PleaseThu Oct 26 1989 10:239
There was a problem with the T5.3 Bookreader with scanline alignment of
bitmap images (this was described in the T5.3 release notes). This
problem is fixed in the SSB version (which has been submitted to the SSB and
should be available on the net shortly). In the meantime, there should be
a new Bookreader image (DECW$BOOKREADER.EXE) in the same directory where you
got the T5.3 kit from. This is NOT the final V2 SSB Bookreader, but it does
have the fix for the image problem.

    I confirmed that the problem I heard about is the one Joe describes
    in .-1. Meant to say so here earlier.
