I about to start using the <SET_ONLINE_TOPIC> tag to better organize some existing Bookreader books. First a few questions that the documentation doesn't answer. 1. I assume that I can have only 1 argument to the tag. Is this correct? 2. If I use the tag to identify a <HEAD3> as a chunk, will the head 1s and 2s not be included in the chunking? 3. If 1. and 2. are correct, I assume I will have to use a series of the tags to get all head 1s, 2s, and 3s read as chunks. Is this correct? I did check the notes and replies and wasn't able to find the info. Thanks, Jack

You need to look at Mary Utt's "Coding Documentation Source Files for the DECwindows Bookreader". Copy it from: VAXUUM::KITS_:[DOCUMENT.V11]WRITER_GUIDELINES.PS It has info about <set_online_topic>. Basically, you set it in the profile or individual files, it stays in effect until changed, and all levels above are still online topics (if you set to head3, head2 and head1 are also topics). Thanks, Ross. Yes, that document should answer your questions, Jack. If not, please post questions here and I'll attempt to answer them (and update the document accordingly). There is a somewhat newer version of the document for the latest release (under VAX DOCUMENT V1.2), although the <set_online_topic> info has not changed. It's in: VAXUUM::KITS_:[DOCUMENT.V12.BOOKS]WRITER_GUIDELINES.PS (There are also .LN03 and .DECW$BOOK versions there.) Mary | |||||

Thanks for the quick replies. I do have the documentation, and did read it before posting the note. It didn't clarify the relationship when specifying a low level head without specifying the higher levels. Jack |
