165.0. "T1.2-A and ONLINE doctypes" by AITG::WARNER (Ross Warner) Tue Jul 11 1989 17:03
Having trouble with our installation of DOCUMENT V1.2, regarding the
online doctypes.
My book (which processed OK with V1.1 and its online tools) processes
OK with LPAHAND and DOCUMENT V1.2, but there are problems with both
ONLINE.HANDBOOK and ONLINE.REFERENCE.
Perhaps the problems are related to the installation...any help would be
greatly appreciated!
With ONLINE.HANDBOOK, I get an "exceeded memory capacity" message (excerpt
from LOG file):

165.1 | Could this be the problem? | LEZAH::SMASELLA | | Wed Jul 12 1989 10:43 | 21 |
| Some of the writers on my project have gotten this same error.
Check the Guide to Producing Online Documentation, page 2-18. It
describes the same exact error, as follows:
"This error ussually results from an extremely long code
example, figure, or table, or a series of long code examples,
figures, and tables in a single section or chapter. The solution
is twofold:
o If possible, make long examples, figures, and tables formal,
or place them within an online popup tag sequence.
o Make sure that long examples contain a sufficient number of
and proper placement of <VALID_BREAK> tags.
o Make sure that long and complex tables contain a sufficient number
of and proper placement of <VALID_TABLE_ROW_BREAK> tags."
Hope this helps.

165.2 | DOC$SETUP.COM for CUP/ASG is the problem | AITG::WARNER | Ross Warner | Wed Jul 19 1989 15:32 | 23 |
| After more than a week's work, Mary Utt and I discovered that there is
a problem with the CUP/ASG file:
DOC$ROOT:[SETUP]DOC$SETUP.COM
which we all execute in our LOGIN.COM files.
Executing this file was causing DOCUMENT to exceed memory during the
build for ONLINE doctypes and also for the CUP_DOCTYPES "standard doctypes"
that we are testing.
If you comment the line:
@DOC$ROOT:[SETUP]DOC$SETUP
in the LOGIN.COM, the build is OK. This disables local doctypes,
though.
We'll try to get this command procedure fixed next week.
