163.0. "ONLINE doctype not recognized" by COOKIE::SANDERSON (Phasers on stun) Wed Jul 05 1989 14:17
I'm having problems getting DOCUMENT to recognize the doctype, ONLINE.
It worked as of 16-March.
Looking at DOC$LOCAL_FORMATS, there is a file called ONLINE_DESIGN.DAT that has
two versions. The most recent version, dated 23-March, is empty. The older
version, dated 15-Feb, has one block.
I suspect that DOCUMENT is unable to open the file that describes the ONLINE
doctype because it's empty. Maybe the installation of DOCUMENT failed back
in March.
Has anyone else had this problem? Could this be why it doesn't work?
We're running V1.1 of DOCUMENT here. I'll ask our system manager to delete
the empty version if this is the problem.
(I'm just starting to experiment with building books for the BookReader, so
I've got lots of questions. But first I've got to get the command line to
work!)

| There is no longer a doctype called ONLINE.
ONLINE.REFERENCE is like the old ONLINE doctype.
ONLINE.HANDBOOK is the other online doctype, has square bullets, inline
code example is monospace. There's more information about them in (I
think) the March online bookbuilding tools announcement.
